Nothing can compare to seeing the Red Centre with your own eyes. Be amazed by the breathtaking Uluru sunrise and sunset, take in the majesty of Kings Canyon, Uluru and Kata Tjuta and be immersed by the region’s sacred history.

As this Short Breaks departs at 7.00am, accommodation will need to be pre-booked for the previous night.


We stop to view majestic Atila (Mt. Conner) en route to Ayers Rock Resort. A visit to the Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa Cultural Centre and a tour around the base of Uluṟu with your Driver Guide this afternoon are your introduction to Australia’s massive, world-renowned rock formations. On the Kuniya Walk, you’ll be escorted to the mystical Mutitjulu Waterhole and view ancient Indigenous rock art.

In the late afternoon, witness the striking colour changes of Uluṟu (Ayers Rock) as the sun sets over the world's largest monolith.

Hotel: Outback Pioneer Hotel, Desert Gardens Hotel or Sails in the Desert Hotel, Ayers Rock Resort, 2 nights

Drive through sandhill country towards Kings Canyon, stopping for breakfast at Kings Creek Station. Make the rocky climb to the rim of the canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park. Follow the rim of the canyon stopping to look down into the gorge at lookout points. The rim walk takes approximately 3 hours to complete and is rocky and steep in parts. Or, you may wish to explore the boulder-strewn canyon creek bed.

Return to Ayers Rock Resort.

Included Meals: Breakfast

Glory in an Uluṟu sunrise, then travel to the unique conglomerate rock formations of Kata Tjuṯa (the Olgas). The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek bed between two of the tallest of the towering red-rock domes of Kata Tjuta.

Return to Ayers Rock Resort before transferring to Ayers Rock Airport for your onward flight. Flights to depart after 12.45pm.

Fitness Requirements

  • Uluṟu: Low level of fitness required. Approximately 1 hour gentle walk
  • Kata Tjuṯa: Moderate level of fitness required. Uneven surfaces to complete Walpa Gorge walk
  • Kings Canyon: Good level of fitness required for the 3 hour canyon Rim Walk
  • Low to moderate level of fitness required for the canyon Creek Bed Walk
  • Guests can return to the coach at any time if needed
