Day 1
Welcome to Launceston

Your holiday begins in Launceston, situated on the Tamar River. Tasmania’s ‘northern capital’ is a historic city with many well-preserved Georgian and Victorian buildings. This evening, get to know your Travel Director and fellow travellers with a welcome drink at your hotel.

Day 2
Launceston – Bicheno

Bridestowe Lavender Estate, producer of high-quality lavender since 1922, is your first stop today. Learn about the history of the estate and treat yourself to some of its famous lavender ice-cream. Later, visit the unique Legerwood Carved Memorial Trees site, and then follow the picturesque east coast south to Bicheno. This evening you might like to take an optional tour to see either Bicheno’s wild penguins as they emerge from the ocean for the night or the iconic Tasmanian Devil.

Day 3
Bicheno – Hobart

Today, experience the grandeur of Freycinet National Park, taking a guided walk to Cape Tourville lookout that will unveil astonishing views across brilliant blue water, verdant forest and golden beaches. Then travel through Swansea and Orford on your way to Hobart.

Day 4
Port Arthur

Today, explore Port Arthur Historic Site, taking a cruise around the Isle of the Dead and a fascinating guided walk of the remains of Port Arthur’s infamous convict prison. There will be time for you to wander the site at your leisure. On the drive back to Hobart, see the amazing natural rock formations of the craggy Tasman Arch, the Devil’s Kitchen and the Blowhole. This evening, mingle with your fellow travellers at a Farewell Dinner in one of Hobart’s  fine restaurants.

A penguin tour is the best way to see penguins up close and safely without disturbing them, or hurting yourself! The penguins are accustomed to our tour and lights, but loud noises and camera flashes will scare them away.

Be the first to see these amazing nocturnal animals burst into life.  See natural wild behaviour in these Tasmanian devils which are not normally available for viewing.

Take an unforgettable full day tour, exploring the incredibly remote waterways and wilderness of Bathurst Harbour and Port Davey. You’ll will fly you into this remote area via the south coast. Flying over Hobart to Tasmanian’s most southern point, South East Cape. At this point we leave civilisation behind and enter the vast south west wilderness by following the South Coast Track all the way to Melaleuca. Afterwards, you’ll board a boat for a trip down Melaleuca Inlet and into Bathurst Harbour, an untouched waterway twice the size of Sydney Harbour.

*Post tour bookings only – This is a full day tour. In order to partake you will need to have post tour accommodation booked.

South West Heritage Tour and Scenic Flight (Hobart)

Take a spectacular scenic flight over one of the World's last wilderness frontiers, South West Tasmania. This World Heritage listed National Park has international significance, comprising of over 4500 sq kms of pristine wilderness, no roads, no civilisation, just pure wilderness. Tour includes a landing at Melaleuca and a visit to the bird hide to see the rare Orange Bellied Parrots.

* Post tour booking only. This tour is 4hrs in duration. In order to partake in this experience on the last day of your tour, you will need to have an afternoon flight, or post tour accommodation booked.

Enjoy a relaxing, rejuvenating and rewarding day onboard the luxurious 23 metre catamaran, Peppermint Bay II, and experience the real Tasmania. Cruise down the Derwent to Peppermint Bay, enjoy a delicious lunch of fresh local produce and spend a little time exploring the village of Woodbridge before cruising back to Hobart.

The excursions can be booked through your Travel Director. You will be asked during the early part of your tour to name those that you may wish to join, as advance reservations are often necessary. Please note that occasionally weather or seasonal conditions may not permit their operation. Some also depend on a minimum number of participants and suitable time being available.
