This morning you’ll journey west and down through the Midlands, stopping for morning tea in historic Ross, renowned for being both the finest nineteenth-century village in Australia, and for its Scallop Pies!  Heading towards Hobart, you’ll stop in picturesque Oatlands for a bite to eat before taking part in an AAT Kings Sustainability Programme that allows you to give back to the local community by helping volunteers pot native plants and count seeds at a local not-for-profit nursery that encourages locals to grow native plants in their gardens instead of imports. Later today check in to your hotel and enjoy an afternoon and evening at leisure.

It has been growing lavender since 1922 when a London perfumer planted lavender seeds from the French Alps on his family estate which he named after his wife’s birthplace in England. Anne will also invite you into her family home for morning tea, a selection of home-baked goodies. This afternoon choose an Included Choice sightseeing experience - visit Australia’s largest privately funded museum, the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), with its eclectic mix of ancient, modern and contemporary art. From there, you’ll cruise back to Hobart on the MONA Roma ferry.
