Enjoy a full day to explore Rotorua - zipline through native forest, or relax in a hot pool at Polynesian Spa.

Iconic Sites

Experience the glowworms at Waitomo Caves, escorted by your knowledgeable local guide.

Time For You

Dine where you wish and explore at your leisure on free nights in Wellington and Auckland.

Sustainable Travel

Lunch is supplied through Eat My Lunch, supporting New Zealand children that may have gone to school without lunch.

Welcome to Auckland, New Zealand’s City of Sails. Flights can arrive any time prior to 4.00pm; you will be transferred to your hotel. After you check in, you are free to explore Auckland. This evening, meet your fellow travelling companions and your Travel Director at a welcome reception back at your hotel.

Hotel: VR Queen Street Hotel & Suites

This morning depart Auckland City over the Harbour Bridge and through Northland’s lush farmland before arriving into the beautiful Bay of Islands. Cruise through spectacularly scenic game-fishing waters to Cape Brett and, weather permitting, through the famous ‘Hole in the Rock’ formation. The return cruise to Paihia meanders through picturesque islands – see deserted sandy beaches and secluded bays. This evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Hotel: Copthorne Resort Bay of Islands, Garden Rooms, 2 nights

Included Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Today is completely free for you to experience the beauty of the Bay of Islands: perhaps take a coach trip up to Cape Reinga, the very top of New Zealand via idyllic Ninety Mile Beach, sail aboard a historic tall ship, enjoy a wine tour of the region, or join a tour of Russell and learn more about the region’s history. Tonight, you are free to dine as you wish. Your Travel Director will assist in booking optional experiences.

Included Meals: Breakfast

Enjoy a leisurely morning before you travel back to Auckland. You will journey south to Whangarei, the northernmost city in New Zealand, to wander around the art galleries and through the marina in the Town Basin. Later, enjoy Parry Kauri Park and walk among New Zealand’s native giant Kauri trees before arriving into Auckland late afternoon.

Hotel: VR Queen Street Hotel & Suites

Included Meals: Breakfast

A city sights tour will start your morning in Auckland, around the waterfront out to Mission Bay, Bastion Point and the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial. After leaving Auckland you will follow the meandering Waikato River to Waitomo Caves, to tour the amazing limestone caverns and sail through the still waters of the sparkling Glow Worm Grotto. Venture through King Country region to Rotorua, for an orientation tour. Tonight, an evening of culture, history and scrumptious food awaits you at the Tamaki Family Marae. Wander the ancient forest village and learn about Maori art and traditions, followed by a concert, then experience an authentic Maori Hangi meal.

Hotel: Ibis Rotorua Hotel, 2 nights

Included Meals: Breakfast, Highlight dinner

Today is your chance to experience the geothermal wonderland of Rotorua: perhaps explore Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park, and tour ‘behind the scenes’ through the kiwi nursery and hatchery; visit Te Puia and join a guided tour through the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve, home to famous Pohutu Geyser and bubbling mud pools; and later, perhaps have a soak in the hot mineral waters of the Polynesian Spas. Your Travel Director will assist in booking optional experiences.

Included Meals: Breakfast

Say Haere Ra (goodbye) to Rotorua this morning and journey through pine forests and farmland to the turquoise torrent known as Huka Falls, then see the broad panorama of Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s largest lake and home to some of the best trout fishing in the world. You will then journey south over the Central Plateau, New Zealand’s main volcanic area. Nothing is more striking than the three peaks of Tongariro National Park rising starkly from the surrounding plateau. Pass through a number of quirky small towns along the road to Wellington, including Taihape, the self-proclaimed gumboot capital of the world. Travel along the Kapiti Coast, a traditional summer playground, through to New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington
