Today you’ll meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers for your journey to Geraldton. Heading north to Yanchep National Park, you’ll enjoy a fantastic Aboriginal Cultural Experience in a bush setting. Meet your entertaining Indigenous guide Derek Nannup, a local Nyoongar man, who’ll share with you their way of life and will treat you to the enchanting sounds of the didgeridoo. It’s a hands-on experience where you’ll have the chance to touch and feel traditional Aboriginal tools. Continue to Nambung National Park, home of the marvellous Pinnacles, a series of intriguing limestone formations. On arrival in Geraldton, you’ll visit the evocative HMAS Sydney Memorial and have time on your own to discover the seaside township. 

Please note: As this Guided Holiday departs at 7.30am from Esplanade Hotel Fremantle by Rydges, accommodation will need to pre-booked for the previous night.

Travel to the crystal blue waters and pristine white shell and sandy beaches of Monkey Mia, in the UNESCO World Heritage listed Shark Bay Marine Park. The afternoon is yours to do as you choose. Perhaps take an optional experience scenic flight over Shark Bay Marine Park or a wildlife cruise aboard a catamaran to spot sea creatures great and small. This evening, sit back with a cocktail or cool beer and watch the world go by as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean.

Every morning, Monkey Mia’s wild dolphins swim to shore to be fed. After a leisurely breakfast overlooking the calm waters of the bay, watch the famous dolphins swim into shore (as dolphins are wild their appearance cannot be guaranteed). Visit fascinating Shell Beach, one of only two in the world, formed from billions of coquina bivalve shells up to ten metres deep. Later, travel to Hamelin Pool to see the world’s best known colony of Stromatolites. Dating back to the beginning of life on earth, while they may not appear alive, these living structures have helped scientists unravel the history of life on earth! Venture into Kalbarri National Park to view the spectacular scenery of Murchison River Gorge from a perfect vantage point. Keep an eye out for graceful Peregrine Falcons hunting along the gorges and cliffs. During wildflower season, the National Park is abloom with many a variety of wildflower. You’ll spot Acacia, Banksia, Caladenia and more! Tonight enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Francois Peron National Park 4WD Tour

This is a full day trip adventuring through a spectacular, special piece of earth, right where outback Australia meets the coast. Your tour is a combination of cultural history, sensational scenery, fascinating plants, wild animals and bush survival skills. Includes lunch, morning and afternoon tea, sunscreen, use of binoculars, polarised sunglasses and an expert local guide.

Sail With A Bunch of Animals Cruise

Potentially see the same animals as the morning “Wow! Wildlife Experience” but with a much better chance of seeing dugong since this is usually when we visit the Restricted- Access, Dugong Management Zone, which we are allowed into only once a day. Dugong feed on sea-grass. Shark Bay has the largest sea-grass banks in the world, and its 10,000 dugongs represent about 10% of the world’s dugong population. Although dugongs are shy and extremely difficult creatures to find and approach, we have over the last 14 years developed techniques for getting you close without disturbing them.

Shark Bay Scenic Flight

A 45 minute scenic flight crosses Freycinet Reach to the fascinating patchwork of salt ponds at Useless Loop. It then crosses the sandy finger of Bellefin Prong and out over the rugged Zuytdorp Cliffs. Following the cliffs northward to Australia's most westerly landfall at Steep Point and crosses part of Dirk Hartog Island. Keep you eye out for marine life.

Optional Experiences indicated are Australian or New Zealand dollars. Please note that occasionally weather or seasonal conditions may not permit their operation. Some also depend on a minimum number of participants and suitable time being available. Please see your Travel Director for a full list of experiences.
