Darwin holiday packages

Mindil Beach Sunset

Mindil Beach Sunset

Darwin is the capital of the Northern Territory and one of the most fascinating places in Australia. Located near the top of the continent on the Timor Sea, this picturesque city has more residents than the rest of the Territory combined. Darwin is the ancestral home of the Larrakia people and an important gateway for people from across the sea. A number of Asian and Pacific Island cultures have made Darwin their home, with this rich mixture of ancient cultures and recent arrivals adding so much to the Top End. Darwin is a tropical destination, and rain is plentiful during the wet season from October to April. The coolest months are June and July, but even then, the average daily minimum temperature doesn't get any lower than 14 °C. Visitors to the Top End generally come during the dry season, which is the best time to experience everything Darwin has to offer. Popular attractions in Australia's most northern capital include Darwin Harbour, Casuarina Beach, and the delightful Mindil Beach markets. Darwin is a city of many faces, so our tours also visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, the Darwin Military Museum, and the historic WWII bunkers in Charles Darwin National Park.

Visiting National Parks

Florence Falls Litchfield National Park

Florence Falls, Litchfield National Park

From Darwin, you’ll also be able to short breaks and immersive tours across the Top End. Just three hours east is the World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park—teeming with wildlife, nature walks, serene waterholes and spectacular ancient art amidst the rock formations. The Yellow Water Billabong (Ngurrungurrudjba) is famous worldwide for its bird life and crocodiles, as well as its Aboriginal rock art. The Park is also home to Arnhem Land, home to one of the largest Indigenous populations throughout the continent. For visitors, it’s an ideal place to be immersed in Indigenous culture and to learn just how far the history of this country stretches back. Litchfield National Park is a hidden wonder in the Top End, just two hours south of Darwin. Its trio of waterfalls – Florence, Tolmer and Wangi – all present the opportunity for serenity amidst the balmy clime of the Park. And of course, no visit would be complete without seeing one of the most unusual attractions within the NorthernTerritory – the Cathedral Termite Mounds, some of which stand more than four metres tall. Unlike many other tours , we get up close and personal with the Territory and show you what makes this unique destination tick.

Uluru holiday package deals

Uluru Base Walk

Uluru Base Walk

Uluru is the heart of Australia ’s Red Centre, located in the middle of the country 335 km from Alice Springs. Known for many years as Ayers Rock, this ancient monolith is a sandstone rock formation that stands 348 m high and has a total perimeter of 9.4 km. Uluru is sacred to the local Pitjantjatjara people and has great cultural significance to Indigenous peoples from across the Territory. While visitors are encouraged to walk around the rock and soak up its incredible atmosphere, climbing the rock is no longer allowed. AAT Kings and Inspiring Journeys offer tours to Uluru on a regular basis, helping Australians and international guests to experience this iconic destination. We offer a number of Short Breaks and Guided Holidays across the Red Centre so you can choose the perfect tour for your needs. Everything is included and easy to access, from relaxed dinners under the changing shapes and colours of the rock to majestic sunset and sunrise experiences in Kata Tjuta and Uluru. AAT Kings and Inspiring Journeys help you explore the Red Centre in comfort and style without compromising on the nature of the experience. Make no mistake, Uluru is an incredible travel destination that will inspire lifelong memories and a deeper love of the Australian continent.

Alice Springs holiday packages

Alice Springs Anzac Hill

Alice Springs Anzac Hill

Alice Springs is the second biggest town in the Northern Territory, located roughly at the geographic centre of Australia. The area that comprises Alice is known as Mparntwe to the Indigenous Arrernte people. This iconic outback town of around 25,000 is loved by locals and visitors alike. Alice Springs is situated in the Central Ranges area, which includes the MacDonnell Ranges and a number of spectacular gorges. Alice is a great place to see Aboriginal art, hike in the nearby countryside, and soak up some of the best starlit skies in Australia. Along with being a great tourist destination in its own right, Alice Springs is also known as the gateway to Kings Canyon. The traditional home of the Luritja people of Central Australia, Kings Canyon is a remarkable example of the contrasts at play in nature – a 270m deep chasm carved away over millions of years by erosion, yet plant life and animals thrive in its depths despite the arid climate. Dense palm forests have formed within, alongside waterholes and gigantic boulders. Ancient fossils dot the walls, marking Kings Canyon out as a true natural wonder.
