4 Day Short Break | Uluru (Ayers Rock) to Alice Springs

Take in the many sights of the Red Centre. Discover the wonders of Uluru and enjoy a sunrise and sunset. Traverse the domes of Kata Tjuta on the Valley of the Winds walk and discover the glory of Kings Canyon on a rim climb or canyon floor walk.

On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you’ll be transferred to the resort (flights to arrive prior to 3.00pm).

This afternoon enjoy a leisurely drive out to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Admire the view of the central valley of the domes of Kata Tjuta and witness a magnificent outback sunset while enjoying sparkling wine.

Hotel: Outback Pioneer Hotel , Desert Gardens Hotel or Sails in the Desert Hotel, Ayers Rock Resort, 2 nights.

Rise early to watch the sunrise over Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) with Uluru in the distance. Your Driver Guide will then escort you on a 2-3 hour walk on uneven ground to the Valley of the Winds. This afternoon travel around the base of Uluru as your Driver Guide provides commentary about the numerous sacred sites. Continue by coach to the Kuniya Walk where your Driver Guide will escort you to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. Later visit the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre.

In the late afternoon you’ll travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area. Witness the striking colour changes of Uluru while enjoying nibbles and sparkling wine. After sunset continue to our exclusive barbecue venue. Enjoy sparkling wine on arrival then dine on a menu of a variety of Australian meats and salads and a tasty dessert. All accompanied by a selection of wines, beers and soft drinks. There’s even time for stargazing.

Travel to the Uluru sunrise viewing area and watch the first sunlight of the day creep across the desert plains. In the early afternoon you’ll travel through spectacular desert scenery on your way to Kings Canyon.

Hotel: Kings Canyon Resort, Standard Rooms or Kings Canyon Resort, Deluxe Spa Rooms

This morning join a guided climb to the rim of Kings Canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park. The hike is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. Or, you may wish to take an easier, shorter walk to explore the boulder strewn canyon creek bed.

Afterwards, travel to Alice Springs, where your short break concludes.



As this Short Break concludes after 7.00pm, accommodation will need to be pre-booked for tonight.

  • Uluru: Low level of fitness required. Approximately 1 hour gentle walk

  • Kings Canyon: Good level of fitness required for the 3 hour canyon Rim Walk
  • Low to moderate level of fitness required for the canyon Creek Bed Walk
