Welcome to Cairns! Meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers for an orientation tour of the laid back tropical city. This evening you’ll enjoy a welcome dinner with your new travelling companions.

Hotel: Kewarra Beach Resort & Spa, 2 nights

Included Meals: Dinner

Board a high speed catamaran and cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef. The world heritage listed reef is the only living organism you can see from the moon. You’ll have the opportunity to go snorkelling and view this natural living wonder up- close (equipment provided) and view the spectacular coral and tropical fish from the underwater observatory and glass bottom boat. Enjoy a delicious tropical buffet lunch before you return to Cairns in the late afternoon. You have a free evening to do as you choose.

This morning you will depart Cairns and head inland through the Atherton Tablelands where lush rainforests, waterfalls and lakes abound. Stopping in Atherton before visiting Millaa Millaa Falls and the famous Curtain Fig Tree. This evening you’ll arrive at Undara Volcanic National Park and have your first taste of outback hospitality.

Today you’ll start early with a real bush breakfast around the campfire including billy tea before a guided tour of the Undara Lava Caves.

This afternoon you will visit Leahton Park where the Texas Longhorn have been resident since the 1800s. Enjoy a ‘smoko’ and tour of the property. Next the beach beckon, you head to Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsundays.

Today is free for you to do as much or as little as you like. Maybe take the ferry to Hamilton Island, visit the famous Whitehaven Beach on the Lady Enid or how about Croc Spotting in the estuaries and wetlands of the Whitsundays. Or perhaps just relax by the pool at the resort.

Today is an early start as you depart the coast for a precious gem adventure. Australia’s largest underground sapphire mine awaits you, you will fossick for gems in Rubyvale before heading to Emerald for the evening.

On the way to Agnes Water you will stop for afternoon tea and traditional damper at Langmorn Station, an 11,000 cattle hectare cattle property located in a scenic coastal valley. Your next stop is Agnes Water and the town of 1770, a mostly undiscovered part of the Queensland coast with a rich history.

Today is a free day to do as you please. Perhaps join the Goolimbil ‘Black Cockatoo’ Walkabout Tour to Eurimbula National Park on the amphibious resupply cargo vessel LARC or the 1770reef day cruise to Lady Musgrave Island where you may be lucky enough to swim with the local turtles who can be spotted year round.

Today we start with a trip to the makers of a great Australian icon, at the Bundaberg Rum Distillery you will learn about the history and making of ‘Bundy Rum’. Tonight is free for you to dine at one of the many restaurants and cafés.
