Take an active short break to discover Central Australia’s most iconic and scenic day walks. Experience the changing colours of an Uluru sunset with a glass of sparkling wine in hand. Hear Anangu Tjukurpa or local Indigenous lore as you complete the Uluru base walk, marvelling at the sheer scale of the soaring monolith up close. Travel across the Red Centre to Watarrka National Park for epic views of Kings Canyon on a Rim Walk traverse. Return to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park for a sunrise to remember before your final walk through Kata Tjuta’s Walpa Gorge.

Day 4 - Flights to depart after 1.00pm (Apr-May & Aug-Mar) and 1.30pm (Jun-Jul)

Fitness

Dynamic: High level of fitness required for the Uluru Base hike. This hike is over 10.5 kms in length and mostly in unshaded open areas that are effected by the heat.

How much walking is involved in your trips?

Our itineraries are a well-balanced mix of walking and enjoying sites from the comfort of your coach.

The activity level and amount of walking can vary, so it is important that you bring adequate footwear to ensure your comfort and safety.

When walking there can be some uneven terrain or times when more walking is required than others. You can see the Fitness Requirements for each itinerary in the Trip Details section of the tour page.

Do I need to advise AAT Kings of any special assistance e.g. medication, mobility issues or serious medical conditions?

Yes, it’s essential that we know of any mobility, medical conditions, special or dietary needs you may have at the time of booking so that we can ensure, as much as possible, your needs are met on tour.

Please notify AAT Kings of any disability requiring special assistance prior to travelling. This enables us to make reasonable adjustments in order to accommodate the specific requirements of those travelling with a disability. A companion should always accompany those guests who require individual assistance to walk, get on and off the motorcoach and other vehicles and for personal needs such as dining, dressing etc.If you have any concerns regarding your health or fitness levels, we request that you complete the Specific Requirements form available for download here and return it to our Contact Centre who will be in touch to discuss your trip.
