Lake Tekapo
Lake Tekapo is located centrally on the South Island of New Zealand and covers an area of 83 square kilometres.
This picturesque lake is home to the Church of the Good Shepherd which lies lose to the lakes edge. The church is one of the most photographed landmarks in New Zealand.
The lake provided substantial hydroelectricity to the area and is located close to a winter ski area.
Fantastic views of Mt Cook and the Southern Alps can be experienced from the shores of the lake.
