Fitness Requirements

  • Kakadu National Park - A Medium Level of Fitness is required for the climb to the top of Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Lookout. This experience will not be suitable for all guests. To get to the lookout guests are required to scale up uneven, rocky paths and steps to get to the lookout. There is an alternate route on a paved path for those unable to climb to the top so they will not miss out on Rock Art. There are some steps to view some of the art
  • Kakadu National Park - A Medium Level of Fitness is required for the climb to the top of Nadab Lookout at Ubirr. This activity will not be suitable for all guests. To get to the lookout guests are required to scale up uneven, rocky paths and steps to get to the lookout. There is an alternate route on a fairly flat gravel path for those unable to climb to the top so they will not miss out on Rock Art Nitmiluk (Katherne Gorge) - A Medium level of Fitness is required for the 400m walk between the 2 gorges. This is made up of stairs (with handrails) and uneven surfaces. It is advisable to wear comfortable footwear that are suitable for walking at the crossover area. This tour is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.
  • Nitmiluk (Katherne Gorge) - A Medium level of Fitness is required for the 400m walk between the 2 gorges. This is made up of stairs (with handrails) and uneven surfaces. It is advisable to wear comfortable footwear that are suitable for walking at the crossover area. This tour is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.

The activity level and amount of walking can vary, so it is important that you bring adequate footwear to ensure your comfort and safety.

When walking there can be some uneven terrain or times when more walking is required than others. You can see the Fitness Requirements for each itinerary in the Trip Details section of the tour page.

Do I need to advise AAT Kings of any special assistance e.g. medication, mobility issues or serious medical conditions?

Yes, it’s essential that we know of any mobility, medical conditions, special or dietary needs you may have at the time of booking so that we can ensure, as much as possible, your needs are met on tour.

This enables us to make reasonable adjustments in order to accommodate the specific requirements of those travelling with a disability.
