How many days do you need to explore Kakadu?

By going with a guided tour, you can see the best Kakadu has on offer in 2 - 3 days. Kakadu National Park covers almost 20,000 square kilometers and is full of secrets. If you don't know where to look, it could take weeks to find the gems hidden in the rugged landscapes. AAT Kings has a guided tour option for everyone, with dedicated Kakadu explorer trips complete with a local guide so you can escape for 2 - 3 days, to full Northern Territory adventures that let you travel through the National Park then continue to other attractions throughout the Territory over 15 days.

Is Kakadu or Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) better?

Depending on what you want to see, it's impossible to compare. Kakadu tends to win out because in addition to the unmatched scenery and wildlife at both Kakadu and Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk), Kakadu has a rich cultural heritage thanks to being the home of one of the highest concentrations of ancient rock art in the world. But why choose? Uncover the beautiful Kakadu and experience the Katherine River cruise with a 3-day guided tour.

When is the best time to visit Kakadu?

Whichever time of year you visit, you’ll find plenty of things to see and do in Kakadu National Park. The dry season months of April - October are the most popular, with most visitor sites open and waterfalls such as Jim Jim and Twin Falls able to be visited. The weather at this time of the year offers pleasant, warm temperatures. November – March mark northern Australia’s wet tropical summer, when nature puts on a spectacular show of monsoonal rains and thunderstorms. Some attractions in Kakadu may close at this time of year, but visitors will experience lush beauty of a land brought to life and fewer crowds.

AAT Kings guided tours have flexible departure dates and give a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore everything the great north has on offer while travelling with comfort and ease.
