Day 4, Ayers Rock Resort
11:30am (Oct-Mar)
12:00pm (Apr-Sep)

On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you’ll be transferred to the resort (flights to arrive prior to 3.00pm).

Travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area. Enjoy nibbles and sparkling wine as the sun sets over the western horizon and the evening sky brings out the many shades of colour for which Uluru is famous. Don’t forget your camera!

Hotel: Outback Pioneer Hotel , Desert Gardens Hotel or Sails in the Desert Hotel, Ayers Rock Resort, 3 nights.

Rise early to accompany your guide on the 11km walk around the entire base of Uluru. Walk from Kuniya Piti, an Uluru sacred site and hear the Tjukurpa story (beliefs and law of the Anangu, the local Aboriginal people) of the Mala Men. Next up is the Mala Walk, which includes a visit into Kantju Gorge. Continue along the Lungkata Walk where your guide will tell you the Tjukurpa story of the cheeky Blue Tongue Lizard! Next stop is the Mutitjulu Waterhole. Return to Kuniya Piti where you’ll board your coach and receive a certificate of your achievement!

This afternoon enjoy a leisurely drive out to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Admire the view of the central valley of the domes of Kata Tjuta as you take in an outback sunset while enjoying sparkling wine.

Included Meals: Breakfast

Rise early to travel to Kings Canyon, stopping for breakfast at Kings Creek Station along the way. Make the rocky climb to the rim of the canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park. The hike is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. Or, you may wish to take an easier, shorter walk to explore the boulder strewn canyon creek bed. Return to Ayers Rock Resort.

Included Meals: Breakfast

Rise early to watch the spectacular sunrise over Kata Tjuta with Uluru in the distance. Your Driver Guide will then escort you on a 2-3 hour walk on uneven ground to the Valley of the Winds lookout.
