Discover the World Heritage treasures of the Blue Mountains and the breathtaking natural wonders of the Jenolan Caves. Nestled on the western side of the Blue Mountains, this extensive network of limestone caves and above-ground arches are Australia’s most impressive and one of the oldest cave systems in the world.

Discover the Blue Mountains National Park and the natural wonders of the Jenolan Caves - Nestled on the western side of the Blue Mountains, this extensive network of limestone caves and above-ground arches are Australia’s most impressive.Climb the western mountain highway via the sleepy townships of Blaxland, Wentworth, Lawson and Katoomba.

Three Sisters - Enjoy the views at Echo Point and see the famous Three Sisters rock formation or visit Scenic World for a different vantage point from the Scenic Railway, Cableway and Skyway (own expense).

Grab a bite to eat - From the café before heading to Jenolan Caves along the Cliff Drive with its stunning mountain scenery.

Jenolan Caves - Enter the Grand Arch at Jenolan Caves, hiding place of sparkling limestone caverns.

Blue Lake - Take in the beauty of the region and see the mysterious Blue Lake.

Lucas Cave - Join an informative and fully guided Cave tour through the Lucas Cave, the oldest known caves system in the world. Witness the limestone formations, underground rivers and captivating lighting of the largest of the cave systems with its highest chamber reaching 54 meters.

See Caves House - Originally a 1920s holiday retreat for Sydney’s rich and famous and look out for native wildlife among the quiet bush land, the deep caves and great valley. Learn the folklore of the intrepid settlers and legendary bush rangers of this region. Depart Jenolan Caves for your direct drive back to Sydney.

  • Sturdy non-slip enclosed walking shoes (no heels or sandals)
  • Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Warm layers in cooler months

Fitness Requirements

  • Moderate level of fitness required
  • Guests must be able to walk unassisted
  • Not recommended for guests with mobility difficulties
  • Approximately 860 metre walk and 910 stair steps (including 252 stair steps into the Cathedral Chamber)
  • No wheelchair access at Lucas, Chifley or Imperial Cave
  • No baby prams or strollers access through any of the caves
  • Use of backpack child carriers are strongly advised against during cave tours
