Morning of Day 5, Alice Springs

On arrival in Alice Springs you’ll be transferred to your hotel (flights anytime).

Hotel: Aurora Alice Springs , Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters or Mercure Alice Springs Resort , Alice Springs.

Travel through the West MacDonnell Ranges. Visit a camel farm for the chance to ride one of these ‘ships of the desert’ (own expense) and later stop to view Atila (Mt. Conner) before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort.

Enjoy a leisurely drive to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) to take in a magnificent outback sunset, while enjoying sparkling wine.

Hotel: Outback Pioneer Hotel , Desert Gardens Hotel or Sails in the Desert Hotel, Ayers Rock Resort, 2 nights.

Watch the gorgeous sunrise at Uluru, then travel to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and walk through Walpa Gorge. This afternoon join your Driver Guide for a drive around the base of Uluru. Continue to the Kuniya Walk, where you’ll be escorted to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. Visit the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre.

Late afternoon witness the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset with nibbles and sparkling wine. After sunset, join us under the stars at our exclusive venue. Enjoy sparkling wine then dine on a menu of steak, lamb sausages, chicken skewers, prawns and a selection of fresh salads and a tasty dessert. There’s time for stargazing too (weather permitting).

Included Meals: Dinner

An early start from Ayers Rock Resort should reward you with a desert sunrise en route to Kings Canyon. Make the rocky climb to the rim of the canyon for breathtaking views of Watarrka National Park and into the canyon itself. If time permits you can make the descent into the ‘Garden of Eden’. The climb is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. Or you may wish to explore the boulder-strewn creek bed, an easier shady walk.

Travel on to Alice Springs.

Hotel: Aurora Alice Springs , Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters or Mercure Alice Springs Resort , Alice Springs.

Included Meals: Breakfast

Your short break concludes this morning. You'll be transferred to Alice Springs Airport for your onward flight (flights anytime).
