Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Alice Springs

On arrival in Alice Springs you will be transferred to your hotel (flights to arrive prior to 12 noon).

See the sights of Alice Springs including the School of the Air and the historic Telegraph Station.

Hotel: Aurora Alice Springs (Budget), Lasseters Hotel (Standard) or Chifley Alice Springs Resort (Superior), Alice Springs, 3 nights.

Day 2: Tjoritja/West MacDonnell Ranges

Experience the grandeur of the West MacDonnell Ranges, the deep red cleft of Standley Chasm, the mystique of Ellery Creek Big Hole and the cultural significant of the Ochre Pits. Visit Glen Helen Gorge and enjoy a Ploughman’s Lunch. See the immense cliffs of quartzite at Simpsons Gap.

Day 3: Palm Valley 4WD Safari

Visit the Aboriginal community of Hermannsburg. Travel down the bed of the Finke River into Palm Valley to see an oasis of rock pools and palm trees.

Day 4: Alice Springs – Uluṟu (Ayers Rock) Base Tour & Sunset

Travel to Ayers Rock Resort. Tour the base of Uluru then witness a glorious Uluru sunset. Continue to our exclusive Uluru Barbecue site to dine on a variety of meats, salads and a tasty dessert.

Hotel: Outback Pioneer Hotel (Budget), Desert Gardens Hotel (Standard) or Sails in the Desert Hotel (Superior), Ayers Rock Resort.

Included Meals: Dinner

Day 5: Uluṟu Sunrise – Kata Tjuṯa (the Olgas) – Kings Canyon

Rise early to watch the first rays of the sun set Uluru and the Red Centre alight. Travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and walk through Walpa Gorge.

This afternoon travel to Kings Canyon Resort.

Hotel: Kings Canyon Resort, Standard Rooms (Budget or Standard) or Kings Canyon Resort, Deluxe Spa Rooms (Superior), Kings Canyon.

Day 6: Kings Canyon – Alice Springs

Hike to the rim of Kings Canyon, for those with a good level of fitness, or for an easier, shady walk explore the canyon creek bed.

Return to Alice Springs.

Hotel: Aurora Alice Springs (Budget), Lasseters Hotel (Standard) or Chifley Alice Springs Resort (Superior), Alice Springs.

Day 7: Farewell from Alice Springs

You’ll be transferred to Alice Springs Airport for your onward flight (flights anytime).

Fitness requirement

Moderate level of fitness required:

  • West MacDonnell Ranges: Low level of fitness required. There are uneven surfaces for the Standley Chasm walk.
  • Palm Valley: Moderate level of fitness required. Includes a 2km Palm Valley Rim walk with a section that has an incline.
  • Uluru: Low level of fitness required. The Kuniya Walk is approximately 1 hour gentle walk on flat ground.
  • Kata Tjuta: Moderate level of fitness required. Walking on uneven surface required to complete Walpa Gorge walk, however, guests can return to the coach at any time if needed.
  • Kings Canyon: Good level of fitness required for 3 hour walk around the canyon’s rim. 
    Or low to moderate level of fitness required for the canyon floor walk.
