Dining with us

Over half your meals are included on every tour

Food is an important part of any holiday, but it's not something that should be stressful. Which is why, whether it's a hearty, hassle-free breakfast to ensure the best start to the day or dinner already organised at the end of an exhilarating day of sightseeing, when we know you will want to relax, we include more than half of all your meals on tour, like all buffet breakfasts and many dinners.

To start, we make sure each morning you wake up to a high quality, hot and cold buffet breakfast. And at the end of a busy day, whether it's a high quality buffet or an a la carte menu, included dinners always provide a choice. Dinners typically reflect the local produce or characteristics of the region you're visiting.

There are also some meals we intentionally don't include. We give you the flexibility for most lunches and some dinners to explore in your free time and try all kinds of new tastes. Meet some of the locals, or treat yourself to an intimate dinner for two. Your Tour Director is ready to provide recommendations so you can sample the best of Australia's and New Zealand's renowned regional produce and unique foods.

It's your holiday, it's your time, we understand, that's why we ensure you have the flexibility and time to enjoy it exactly as you like.

Exclusive dining experiences

On all our Premium tours we also offer unforgettable Highlight Dinner experiences, like dining alongside the crocodiles in Darwin or at a traditional New Zealand sheep station, indulging in a delicious BBQ dinner under the stars in the Red Centre, touring an underground mine before a traditional Aussie BBQ in Tennant Creek or enjoying a spectacular seafood buffet lunch onboard a catamaran on the Great Barrier Reef.

Exclusive and unique to AAT Kings, we take authentic experiences one more step. ‘You are invited’ is our newly introduced dining concept. Travelers on our Premium tours enjoy these unique meal experiences, which capture the true essence of a destination through its history, its locals and its produce.

You will be welcomed into family homes and working establishments where you can meet and interact with your hosts, enjoy their hospitality and sample delicious specialities prepared in front of you.
